James "Jim" Bussell King, Jr., 93, formerly of Mountain
Home, died Nov. 1, 2007, at the home of his son in Tacoma, Wash.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Mountain Home Stake Center. Burial
followed at Mountain View Cemetery. Jim was born Sept. 8, 1914,
to James Bussell King, Sr., and Olive Lucinda Thompson, in Twin
Falls. "Jim lived a rich and colorful life, from his sister
Mildred knocking him off a chair as a child, causing him to loose
his voice for a time, to raising a son as a single parent, to living
to old age," his family said. Jim married Darlene Drake on
Nov. 24, 1946. They were later divorced. He married Alta Stewart
Cox on Nov. 12, 1962, and they later divorced. On March 24, 1979,
Jim married Dollie Virginia Fletcher in the Idaho Falls Temple.
Dollie died in 1995. Jim had many careers. He worked for the CCC,
was a cook in the Army during World War II, owned a restaurant
in Twin Falls and Buhl, was a construction truck driver, letter
carrier for the U. S. Post Office, owned H&R Block in Mountain
Home, and developed a miniature golf course. Along with his careers
Jim had many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, including Scoutmaster of Troop 59, Elders Quorum President,
High Priest Group Leader, and Counselor in the Bishopric. He is
survived by: his son, Tom, and Tom's wife Susan, three grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren; step children Karla and her husband,
Gary, Alan and his wife, Noni, Kathy and her husband, Gary, nine
step-grandchildren and 19 step great-grandchildren. He was preceded
in death by his sister, Mildred Bernice King Lee, his brother,
Jon Charles King, and step-brothers, Farrell John Bess, Edward
Jewel "Bud" Bess, and stepsister Marjorie Ann Bess Mendini.
