George Lee Balsley

George Lee Balsley,85, of Raytown, Missouri, passed away Tues., May 27, 2008 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the Langsford Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5:30-8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Langsford Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Hospice. George was born September 19, 1922 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran. He was an avid O-Gage Model Train Railroader. George held many different memberships including Blue Ridge Bible Church, Kiwanis Club, Sons of the Confederate Veterans, OSB (Order of Stars and Bars) and was a camp commander of the SVC at Jeff Davis Camp in Biloxi, Mississippi. George had a banking career starting the 1950s at City National Bank. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of the home; five children, George Jr., Jeff, John, Pam and Polly; three sisters, Priscilla, Margaret and Gloria; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
